Eid ul –Fitr (Idd Mubarak)

This is a popular date with Muslims. The date is not fixed but occurs after the month of Ramadhan each year during the ninth lunar month. During Ramadan, Muslims avoid food and drinks from sunrise to sunset. Eid ul –Fitr marks the end of Ramadan and is a joyous feasting period that lasts for three days . At Eid, Muslims eat celebratory meals, give food to the poor, exchange gifts and also visit friends and relatives.

Fasting is important to Muslims because it helps them to remember the poor people who usually sleep hungry or feed on poor quality food. It helps to strengthen the realization that all humans are alike and can suffer from hunger. This helps to discourage injustices to one another. Fasting and praying helps Muslims to seek supernatural interventions on certain pertinent issues affecting the human beings.
