Permission

Beware, Satan ever seeks permission
To tempt you, inflict you with pain,
Fear, sorrow, tears, loss
Destroy you now and forever
But God blocks these requests
Depending on your relationship
With Lord God Almighty

Be sober, be watchful:
Your adversary the devil,
As a roaring lion, walketh about,
Seeking whom he may devour, (‭1 Peter‬ ‭5‬:‭8‬ ASV)

When Christ Jesus was about to die
Loneliness, fear set in the hearts of his disciples
Some like Simon exuded courage
“Lord, I am ready to go with You,
both to prison and to death.” (‭Luke‬ ‭22‬:‭33‬ NKJV)
Only to be filled with fear, to reject Jesus
Three times in a row, in one night

Jesus candidly told Simon
“Simon, Simon! Listen!
Satan has received permission to test all of you,
To separate the good from the bad,
As a farmer separates the wheat from the chaff.
But I have prayed for you,
Simon, that your faith will not fail.
And when you turn back to me,
You must strengthen your brothers.” (‭Luke‬ ‭22‬:‭31-32‬ GNB)

One day Satan presented himself to God
Sought permission to tempt Job
“…take away everything he has —
He will curse you to your face!” (‭Job‬ ‭1‬:‭11‬ GNB)
God did not grant the full request, he cares
“All right, everything he has is in your power,
but you must not hurt Job himself.”(‭Job‬ ‭1‬:‭11-12‬ GNB)

Devil seeks permission to tempt you
Your ears, to pay attention to unworthy stimulus
Eyes, to pay attention to worthless items
Nose, to desire sniffing evil things
Hands, to quicken to commit felony
Legs, to walk on wrong paths
Mind, to think evil things
Heart, to comprehend evil things
Hence dent our relationship with God

Let us be watchful, prayerful
Maintain good relationship with God
Devil presents many requests, for you
Not every request is honored,
God denies some requests, to shield His own
Depending on God’s relationship with you
